There have been more questions without answers on what causes fire in our schools mostly when students are approaching their final exams.
The recent incident at St John's Nyamagwa High School in Kisii county has left many people with questions without answers as it was reported that the fire was caused by the students who were protesting against poor results in the 2015 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education.
But in the real sense, the fire incidents in our school have been happening mostly when students are approaching their end-term examination.
The question is why does this occur during this time? Is it that the students fear exams and use it as an excuse to burn the school.
The school management and stakeholders should come up with solutions which will end this menace in our schools.
What is also quite funny is that when students burn down their schools it is their parents who take the burden of paying the cost.
Parents have been struggling to pay school fees but when it comes to these incidents they are more burdened.
