[Photo: Citizen Digital]Political analyst Gabriel Muthuma has called on Kenyans to 'question seriously' what Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga plans to attain by opting for 'the court of public opinion' over Supreme Court in having their electoral grievances resolved.According to Muthuma, the only option that can bring about a peaceful resolution to NASA's electoral dispute is a court process."This has already been said by many people including the international community, the clergy, world leaders and even the President-elect who has called on the opposition to follow the laid down constitutional means to have their issues addressed," Muthuma told Citizen TV on Tuesday evening. He, however, noted that he was eager to see what the opposition will come up with on Wednesday (today) after Nasa postponed the so-called big announcement later on Tuesday."We have to wait and see the other method they want to use to attain that which they want to attain now that they have rubbished the idea of going to court. But we have to ask, what is this that they want to attain outside the courts? What are they following?" Muthuma added. However, Joseph Simekha from Nasa Secretariat speaking at the same time said that what Nasa is dealing with is a political and not a legal process."We have politely declined to go to the Supreme Court and nobody should compel us to do so. Going to court is at our discretion because this is a civil dispute and not a criminal one," said Simekha. He added: "We have so many options apart from going to court. We can decide to keep quiet, ask citizens to exercise their sovereign rights, call for a forensic audit of the electoral system and so many others. So it is ignorant to say that we have only one option."
