Deputy President William Ruto has hailed Nairobi senator Mike Sonko, after he appointed Vivo Energy Managing Director Polycarp Igathe, as his running mate, in the race for the county's gubernatorial race.
The Jubilee Party deputy leader said the duo will ensure Kenya's capital, transformed into greatness, once they beat incumbent governor Dr Evans Kidero and deputy Jonathan Mueke, in the August elections.
''Without fear of contradiction, the leadership of these two great gentlemen, Jubilee will win,'' Ruto said.
He was speaking when Sonko unveiled Igathe, officially, as his running mate, Wednesday, at the Jubilee Party headquarters in Pangani.
Sonko won the party's ticket against former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth and former Starehe MP Margaret Wanjiru, last month.
He had affirmed that he would pick a technocrat, to help him run the city, as governor.
