Education CS Fred Matiang'i on Tuesday during the release of KCPE exam results. Early release of KCPE might not be rosy for many families. [Photo: Twitter]The early release of KCPE results on Tuesday got many from parents to pupils and the nation at large by surprise. The results were released only 19 days after pupils completed their exams, the first time it happened in the history of KCPE.However, this early release won't be good news to all especially to parents and pupils. Here is why.Family squabbles: In the coming days many parents will have to deal with the reality that the exams are out, and they have to start planning for their kids' secondary education now. Now, the problem will be what to prioritize, education or festivities. Remember, before results used to be released after Christmas holidays.Dull festive season: For both parents and pupils it won't be a sweet festive season affair. For pupils who performed poorly, they will have to endure the rebuke and the scold from their parents regularly as we enter the festive season. For parents whether their child performed well or not, they will have to tilt their holiday budgets now they are fully aware of what their kids scored. Things will even be made worse by Education CS Fred Matiang'i's pronouncement that school placements will be complete before Jamhuri Day! So, the exact budget to set a side for the Form One kid will even be clear.Sibling rivalry: This is bound to happen especially in families where kids performed exemplary well. Special attention and treatment by their parents will be the order of the day as we enter the festive season. As usual other siblings will obviously feel jealous that all their parents' attenattention has been diverted to the good 'KCPE perfomer'.A slight complaint will be met by statements like, 'Had you performed like this during your time, you could have been treated like this', or 'The way you perform in school, do you think you will ever make us this proud?'
