Former National Assembly Deputy Speaker Farah Maalim has been languishing in the political cold after losing his seat in 2013.
Maalim unsuccessfully tried to make a comeback in 2017 but lost to National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.
The former MP can, however make a political comeback if he:
1. Quits Wiper and joins ODM
Prior to the 2017 General Election, Maalim quit the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and joined Wiper Party.
This made him 'inferior' in the political scene. He should rejoin the Orange party and he will gain more political mileage.
2. Stop criticising Raila
Ever since he joined Wiper, Maalim has been a critique of Odinga's political decisions. This made him lose fan base from the former Premier's loyal supporters.
Going forward, he should stop criticising Raila and start working with him. This way, he will regain a huge support base.
3. Make his stand clear on big political matters.
The former legislator should not seat on the fence when it comes to big political decisions. He should be clear on who he supports.
