Kenyan super striker Masoud Juma was discovered in Garissa and is set earn between Sh500,000 and Sh1 million per month plus bonuses in South Africa.
A government-backed National Youth Academy talent search programme four years ago helped AFC Leopards team manager Gilbert Selebwa to identify the great talent in the 21-year-old Kariobangi Sharks forward.
“At the time, I liked his height, the fact that he could play with both feet and turn of pace,” Selebwa said as quoted by Nation Sport.
The young forward will pocket his lucrative salary depending on the playing time he will get in competitive matches.
He was granted a three-year contract by the South African outfit. Selebwa believes the striker will continue to shine for Cape Town City.
“I took him with me to (Kisii’s) Shabana FC and wrote a blog at around that time indicating that he will play for the national team one day. That has come to pass. He will score goals in South Africa, that’s a given,” he said.
