To forge ahead as a country and realize the full benefits of devolution, Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi says each and every Kenyan needs to have a meaningful input in the decision making processes in government.

He said there is need for all counties to draft and operationalize legislation on public participation so as to enable every Kenyan influences the decision making in policy, legislation, service delivery, oversight and development matters in their counties.

Kingi was speaking when he presented his views in support of the Office of the County Attorney and the Public Participation Bills on behalf of the Council of Governors (CoG), to the Senate Committee of Legal and Human Rights on Wednesday.

According to the ODM governor, the setting up of the office of the County Attorney will go a long way in ensuring public participation is fully implemented at a County level.
