NASA co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka is a man who cannot be depended on, Machakos Governor Dr Alfred Mutua has said.
Kalonzo, the Wiper party leader was conspicuously absent on Tuesday at Nairobi's Uhuru Park when the former prime minister was 'sworn in' into office sparking speculation of his future at the opposition coalition.
Raila was expected to be sworn in along Kalonzo as his deputy.
"The whole swearing in event was wrong and bound to fail because it was unconstitutional and based on the wrong premise," Mutua said on his official Facebook page on Tuesday evening.
"On the other hand, it is now crystal clear to all that Kalonzo Musyoka has over and over again proven he can never be depended on. Trust him at your own peril."
Kalonzo, since 2013 has been a close ally to Raila a man who has consistently fought for reforms in a country which has undergone violent election periods in the past.
Initially, there were reports that the former vice president had flown out of the country before it emerged that he was actually in Nairobi.
Opposition MPs who attended Raila's inauguration said Kalonzo would be sworn ni at a later date although Constitutionally both Raila and him should have been inaugurated together.
