Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui alongside his Narok counterpart Samuel Ole Tunai visited Karima where a faultline damaged the Maai Mahiu-Narok road following heavy rains.
The two thanked KeNHA for swift response to repair the road to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Kinyanjui urged residents who live in areas with cracks to move to safety.
"We will also cordon the area to prevent people and livestock from falling into the cracks," he said.
A team of engineers from Nakuru County is also on the ground to ensure swift action is taken in case the cracks continue to emerge.
The Nakuru governor called for mapping of the area to identify sections with fault lines to ensure no life or property is lost.
Governor Tunai said mapping would inform a decision on whether to divert the road to avoid disaster in future.
Also present was Nakuru acting CeC for Infrastructure Eng. Lucy Kariuki.
