In an attempt to uproot corruption within Machakos county, governor Alfred Mutua accompanied by several members of parliament, members of county assembly and county officials submitted documents pertaining to wealth of Machakos county employees to the chief executive officer of ethics and anti-corruption commission Halakhe Waqo on November 16, 2015.
Waqo said that EACC will scrutinize the submitted documents and give a report after 3 months. He said that properties that will be recovered from the exercise will be liquidated and handed over to the public.
This came after the EACC took a step further to weed out corruption in the country by doing a lifestyle audit of senior government officials.
The question that is now burning concerned residents of Machakos is; When will EACC table its findings? It is well past 3 months since the governor submitted the documents to EACC.
Justice delayed is justice denied. Are they still covering up for corrupt individuals so that they table a clean report?
