Kiyiapi, a re-known educationist said on Tuesday that after the 'golden handshake' at Harambee House, he expected levels of harassment meted on opposition leaders to drop.

"We all expected that the Uhuru-Raila handshake heralded new beginnings," Kiyiapi, a former Education Ministry Permanent Secretary said.

"Looks like we celebrated too early. As Kenyan, I don't like how Miguna Miguna is being treated contrary to court rulings!"

Kiyiapi made the remarks hours after authorities attempted to force Miguna into a Dubai-destined flight after the Immigration department denied him entry into the country over claim he had no travel documents to get clearance at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.

He was returning to the country after being deported to Canada on February 6. The deportation came after he, alongside other opposition MPs, George Aladwa (Makadara) and Tom Kajwang' (Ruaraka) were arrested for organising Raila's swearing in as the people's president on January 30.

By 3PM on Tuesday, more than 24 hours after his arrival in the country, he was still at JKIA awaiting clearance from the Immigration department.
