Former Lands Minister Charity Kaluki Ngilu has pledged to equip all the health facilities in the county, ensure residents access clean water and provide farmers with certified seeds within the 100 days of her governance.

Speaking when she met newly elected Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) at her Ithookwe home, Ngilu said that she is committed to providing better leadership to the people of this region.

The new county boss also asked the MCAs to serve the people without fear or favor in order to realize the plans they had for them.

“We should embrace each other because, at this point, it doesn’t matter which political vehicle or aircraft you used to get elected; what matters most now is how we work together in a bipartisan way to deliver on our campaign promises and transform people’s lives,” said Ms Ngilu, as quoted by Nation.

Ngilu’s win came as a surprise to many after Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka threw his weight behind incumbent governor Dr. Julius Malombe.

The lawmaker outdid both Malombe and Senator David Musila, an Independent candidate.  Ngilu has promised to correct the mistakes made by the past leadership.
