Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has seemingly taken a back seat in national politics following the meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
It remains unclear what the Kamba political kingpin is planning after he decided to go silent. According to Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior, Kalonzo can decide to wait for Raila's support in 2022, go solo or join forces with other politicians from different parts of the nation in order to make his Presidential dream valid.
On his part, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has said the former Vice President’s dream of ascending to power is still valid.
Kibwana observed that it is up to the opposition’s bigwig, Raila to decide whether he can back him or not.
Kalonzo has, however, maintained that he has what it takes to lead this nation.
The politician has insisted that he will not play second fiddle to any other candidate when the time comes.
Kalonzo is expected to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto during the race to succeed Uhuru.
Ruto is banking on President Uhuru's support to win the seat with a landslide.
It is not yet clear whether Raila will be on the ballot box or not.
