Siaya Senator James Orengo on Saturday gave OrangeDemocratic Movement (ODM) party's stand the retirement of Raila Odinga.

This is after increased speculation that Raila was planning to vie for the presidency in 2022.

Speaking during the homecoming ceremony for Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo on Saturday, the ODM Senator stateOrengo said that there was a room that ODM will field Raila as the presidential candidate in 2022.

“Some people are saying Raila should retire, but we firmly believe he has not accomplished his goal and he will not retire from politics anytime soon," Orengo said.

Raila who attended the function, however, did not comment on the topic.

"You saw me put my life on the line and even take the oath of office amid gunshots and unrelenting teargas. That journey we started is still on course,” he conveyed.

On the handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila said at the moment he was focused on uniting the country.
