Almost two months ago Kiambu Governor William Kabogo said Deputy President William Ruto should not sit pretty assured he will get unrivalled support from Mount Kenya voters come 2022.

This is in the envisaged payback deal for his support to President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017.

This as we all know didn't go well with many Jubilee leaders and supporters which forced Kabogo to come out again and as any other typical Kenyan politician, claim that he was misquoted by the media.

Kabogo asserted his support for Ruto and even went ahead to threaten to sue any media or person that attributed the statement that his very own untamed tongue uttered.

The storm that Kabogo had caused by those claims may seem settled for now but for William Ruto who is known to be a tactical and charismatic politician, this may not have ended by Kabogo's retraction of his unsolicited utterances.

Many local political analysts and pundits have argued that Kabogo's utterances were uncalled for, untimely, unripe, divisive and unwise.

If Kabogo, had 'consulted widely', many argue, he could have said something different from what he said that particular day which proved irritating to many Jubilee leaders and supporters too.

It, however, goes without saying that Ruto noted what Kabogo said and who knows what he could be planning come 2017.

He could, for instance, ask President Uhuru to support him for the presidency in 2017 as Uhuru plays second fiddle waiting for 2022.

Ruto could alternatively seek to form other alliances where people like Kabogo won't shortage him in any anyway either through reckless public statements or walking their talk when the time comes.
