The Jubilee administration led by President Uhuru Kenyatta and DP William Ruto has decided to launch a development portal that will showcase its development record for the four years it has been manning Kenya.
This is seen as a move to counter sharp criticism from the opposition and the general public concerning its numerous unfulfilled pledges. President Kenyatta is expected to launch a Public Information Portal today, April 10, 2017.State House Spokesperson Manoah Esipisu said the portal will contain all grass-root level projects and programs implemented by the Jubilee administration. Speaking at the Kisumu State Lodge, Esipisu confirmed that all information will be available and one can check his/her village representation in terms of development.“The portal will showcase various national government projects across the country. This material will be live with still images, video, and words. You can check out your village or your county and see how well you’re represented in terms of how development is reaching you,” he said as quoted by citizen digital. The initiative will help Jubilee to shield itself from criticism from the Kenyan social media fraternity that faulted the recent launching and re-launching projects. Many believe that Jubilee is using development as a PR tool as we approach the general election.
