Kiambu based political analyst and commentator Peter Ngure has asked Governor William Kabogo’s rivals not to celebrate just yet saying that Kabogo is a tactful politician and cannot be written off even after losing the Jubilee Party nomination ticket.

According to Ngure, Kabogo has an alternative of contesting as an independent candidate in the August 8 polls.

Ngure says that Kabogo is not those politicians who easily give up adding that he (Kabogo) might not ready to ‘kill’ his political dreams.

In an interview on Wednesday Ngure said, “I don’t think Kabogo is ready to quit politics basing on the Jubilee Party nomination results.”

The analyst added that Kabogo will make a comeback either in the August 8 polls or the 2022 general election.

“Kabogo will make a comeback especially in relation to the 2022 succession politics,” he said.Ngure noted that Kabogo had hinted on participating in the 2022 presidential election and that he cannot quit politics easily. The analyst said that 2022 succession politics cannot be shaped and re-shaped in Kabogo’s absence.“Kabogo is among Mt Kenya influential politicians and his experience is much needed especially in regards to the 2022 general election,” he added.Kabogo conceded defeat to Ferdinand Waititu in the Jubilee Party nominations on Tuesday night. The governor conceded defeat moments after the results had started to trickle in. He wished Waititu well saying it was great serving Kiambu people. The flamboyant governor claimed that unnamed powerful individuals did not want him to be governor.Kabogo did not hint on whether he will be running as an independent candidate in the August polls instead saying that he had other things to do.Political analyst Herman Manyora claims that Kabogo’s defeat to Waititu is based on the remark he (Kabogo) allegedly made in relation to Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.In 2016 Kabogo allegedly said that it was not a guarantee that Mt Kenya region will support DP Ruto’s presidential bid in 2022.Manyora said that the alleged statement by Kabogo might have influenced Kiambu people to vote him out.
