Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has defended the National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, over his remarks that Wiper will bolt out of the Nasa coalition, if Kalonzo is not made the presidential flag-bearer. He said there was nothing wrong with Nyenze saying so, since he was expressing his opinion He wondered why some Nasa members condemned the Kitui West lawmaker after making the remarks, saying everyone was entitled to their opinion. According to him, Nasa partners; ODM, ANC and Ford Kenya also want their party leaders to be flag-bearers, which was normal.
"Why is it wrong when Nyenze says his opinion? Everyone has the right to their opinion. Recently Joho said they would accept nothing less than my brother Raila Odinga being the Nasa flag bearer. Why do you attack Nyenze when he says Kalonzo should be the president?'' he said. Addressing the press, Friday, the former vice president further said it was upon the four Nasa principals, to decide who amongst themselves, would be the flag-bearer. He said the 12-member Nasa Coordinating Committee mandated to meet and come up with recommendations of possible flagbearer will only present a report to the principals. Kalonzo indicated they would then go on a retreat to discuss, agree, and come out with an ideal candidate.
