Good leader.

Mama, as she was fondly referred, was a good leader. This saw her being nominated to be the chair of an organisation of over 40 African First Ladies. The organisation was formed to fight HIV/Aids.

Loving and caring

As many will remember, Mama was always protective ofher husband. In 2002, after former president Mwai Kibaki was involved in a car accident, Mama took an initiative to campaign for him until he won the elections. She always supported Kibaki. She took her family matters seriously and always guarded it.

Be humble

Mama Lucy Kibaki was a humble person. This is even evident that she did not want to be in the headlines daily.
