Kenyans online expressed mixed reactions after the National Police Service (NPS) on Wednesday announced that it will reward anyone who will give them information leading to the arrest of a gang leader who is linked to the recent wave of robberies and murders within Mt Elgon.
According to NPS, the person with the required information on Timothy Kiptanui Kitai, will be given one million shillings.
Following the announcement, a section of Twitter users expressed their disappointment with the government saying Kenya was broke and yet the government is dishing out money.
Some wondered why the Jubilee administration used a lot of energy to hunt for opposition leaders and yet it cannot use the same energy to look for Kitai
Below are mixed reactions samples from twitter:
@AbdulKeinan: The Govt is broke; -Waiguru is a governor not in jail. -Mutahi Ngunyi given the 5th Estate at K24 TV to castigate Raila. -We're told to look for armed suspect Timothy Kiptanui Kitai -Over 40 billion can't be accounted for according to Audit Report. What a shithole country!
