Just a day after Embakasi East MP Babu Owino spoke words that are alleged to have belittled president Uhuru Kenyatta during a NASA rally, the women of Kikuyu constituency are baying for his blood.
Babu is believed to have belittled Uhuru by comparing him to a puppy, a statement that the first time lawmaker has denied and said he cannot retract.
Protests have been spotted in Kiambu county as residents call for the arrest of Babu for alleged hate speech.
Speaking on KTN on Monday afternoon Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungwa also said women and residents of Kikuyu have asked him to help them access parliament so that they can perform a civilian arrest.
"The people and especially women of Kikuyu want to access the parliament to arrest Babu and I cannot guarantee his safety," he said.
" I won't mind helping the women access to the parliament to arrest Babu that I can guarantee," he added.
However, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed defended Babu saying the MP did not say anything close to hate speech and those were just tactics by Jubilee to frustrate the opposition.
