Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, has told the residents of Kisumu to begin holding leaders accountable as soon as they take an oath of office.
During his campaign the Kisumu Governor presented a very extensive manifesto which included several development plans set to take place within the first 100 days.
Kisumu imports its commodities from Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Nandi, Mombasa, Uganda and Tanzania while also being responsible for providing for more than one million people.
Governor Nyong’o has included agriculture to his list of priorities in an attempt to boost food production.
"We want to put a sharp focus on developing the agriculture value chain and explore opportunities in the regional markets,” he said as reported by The Standard.
Last but not least, the governor stated that he will utilize rivers and Lake Victoria to help revive agriculture in the region.
