Former Harambee Stars midfielder McDonald Mariga has said he will not entirely retire from football even after quitting the soccer field.
The international soccer star in an interview on Citizen television said he may join the coaching profession after leaving the football field which he says he loves with a passion.
"I have played football for long and it will reach a point where I will have to leave playing football," he said during the interview hosted by Jeff Koinange.
"I can do coaching. But even in coaching, I have a passion in developing youth talent back here in Kenya. I will help develop them and see that they realize their dreams."
Mariga who is presently playing for Spanish side Real Oviedo said Kenya has great sports talent calling on all stakeholders to join hands, pull resources and tap into youth capabilities which can be used to help the young people to earn a living.
He rekindled memories of his high school days where he said he would dream football all night to the surprise of his dormitory mates.
"I had great love for football and I would dream about it all night. My dormitory mates would enjoy me in the morning by reciting what I said while asleep," he said.
