Moi University students have asked new Vice-Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kosgey to construct more lecture rooms and hostels.
Led by the students union secretary general Moses Tisa, they said the current number of lecture rooms is a drop in the ocean compared to the number of students at the institution.
“We want to congratulate Prof. Isaack Kosgey for being appointed as the Moi University Vice-chancellor and we are sure that his appointment as chancellor was based on meritocracy and competency and not tribalism,” said Tisa in Eldoret town, Thursday.
“We want him to address the issue of missing marks since despite a student finishing his or her course it’s sad that he/she does not have all marks. He should also ensure that we have enough hostels to prevent students from renting outside which is a security threat,” he added.
They, however, congratulated the outgoing Moi University acting Vice-Chancellor Laban Ayiro for his exemplary work and wished him well in his endeavors.
“We want to applaud Prof. Laban Ayiro for transforming the university in his one-year term in office in an acting capacity and we urge the incoming VC to follow in his footsteps for the betterment of the institution,” noted Tisa.
