Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi accompanied the Deputy Governor of Kisumu City County Dr. Ochieng' Owili to the launching and commissioning of Naselica Prevention Centre of Excellence in Kisumu CBD.
Naselica Centre is an initiative of Liverpool VCT and will be offering care and counselling to HIV victims. The Centre will also offer necessary services on preventive measures among the youth and other most vulnerable citizens.
"Just like Kisumu county, Mombasa county is working towards a zero new infection rate in the city and we believe that the lessons we have learnt in Kisumu will be very critical in enhancing our intervention programmes," said Kingi.
He said containing HIV prevalence was a collective responsibility.
"We shall be seeking partnerships with key players such as CDC Kenya and other players to establish sustainable interventions back home," he added on Friday.
