Mt Kenya University Chairman and founderfounder Simon Gicharu has called for a dialogue between the striking university lecturers and the Ministry of Education.
According to Gicharu, the two parties need to deliberate on the educational stalemate witnessed in the country.
Gicharu was speaking at Elijah Kagiri PCEA Thika Church on Sunday where he noted that it is the welfare of the learners which is at stake.
"All education stakeholders should support the committee appointed by the education ministry to end this stalement.
"You can imagine those that have only one semester to finish their campus education and those that are ready to graduate, what will become of them,” he said.
Gicharu appealed to the striking workers to put the interest of the students above their own and not let them suffer at the expense of their quest for huge salaries.
“Dont fight for your rights at the expense of others. The students too have the right to be taught as they have paid for that education. This is the reason why it is important for stakeholders to agree," he said.
