Former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti’s dream of becoming the next governor of Machakos was dented that day Senator Johnson Muthama declared that he will not support Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
Muthama painted Ndeti as a leader who has been imposed on the people. Voters who had not yet decided whom to back for the county’s seat are likely to consider backing another candidate ahead of the forthcoming general polls.
“The party leader has been imposing candidates on people and ensuring that by all means, those people become Wiper candidates.Wiper Party is no longer a democratic party that is why I can no longer go and campaign for it anywhere,” said Muthama.
The senator also painted Ndeti as a thief after claiming that she garnered more votes than expected. The revelations of the senator have forced Ndeti to move from one part of the county to another to convince the people that she is not a thief.
Muthama is one of the most influential leaders from Ukambani. His stand in relation to small parties in Ukambani made him hit headlines on several occasion.
The senator ensured that Chama Cha Uzalendo and Muungano Party join Wiper ahead of the August election. Kalonzo’s asked Muthama to negotiate for his Presidency in NASA, which shows that they share more than what meets the eye.
