Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and outgoing Senator Johnson Muthama have hinted at a political reunion after both said that they have nothing personal against each other.
The reunion of the two leaders will strengthen the Kamba community as it looks forward to rising to power. Muthama has always said that he is inseparable with Wiper Party Leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka.
If Muthama’s words are anything we can go by then there are possibilities of Mutua reuniting with Kalonzo. According to Muthama, he has no reason to object Mutua’s leadership if he abides by his promises.
“I want to send this message to Mutua...someone should tell him I will have no problem with him as long as mama mbogas pay Sh200 as tax per year and boda boda men pay Sh500," he said during a burial in Kangundo last Saturday, as quoted by Star.
The remarks of the senator clearly show that he has the interest of the people at heart. Leaders of Ukambani need to engage in issue based politics and not propaganda. The politicians need to unite in order to ascend to power in the near future.
Kalonzo, Muthama and Mutua need to speak in one voice to lead the Kamba community to right direction.
