The Nakuru county assembly has a passed a ward development bill.

The bill anchors on law that every ward in the county will be receiving 25% of its total share of budget.

This means 25% of what the county receives from the national government plus its revenue as collected in the particular year.

This 25% will then be divided among the 55 wards in the county depending on its population and size.

Also the least amount a ward can receive is Sh24 million.

It is not clear, however, if Governor Lee Kinyanjui will sign the bill to become law.
