Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris has revealed that NASA is supporting families of supporters allegedly killed by police bury the victims.

Speaking to Radio Citizen, Passaris said each family has received Sh50,000 to enable them give their relatives a decent send off.

"Apart from the money, we also paid mortuary charges and transportation costs," she said on Saturday morning.

On Thursday, 16 families collected at City Mortuary the remains of relatives killed by police officers during the Raila Odinga's return from the US.

Among the bodies collected was that of seven-year-old Geoffery Mutinda who was killed by a stray bullet at Nairobi's Pipeline Estate.

Mutinda's grandfather, Patrick Mutua, said the boy's blood will haunt his killers.

"Here lies my grandson. He was a son of my daughter. A boy who did not even know what politics is or demonstrations is. But we leave everything to God," he said.

Raila Odinga, the NASA leader, demanded a formal apology from the government.

"The government must apologise and compensate the affected families," he stated, speaking at City Mortuary.
