Series of events have happened in the NASA coalition depicting possible disunity among the opposition co-principals, their parties, party officials and their subjects on the ground.
The latest events being opposition chief Raila Odinga meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta for a peace talk without inviting his fellow opposition co-principals Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula, and the other one being dethroning Wetangula as the senate minority leader and replacing him with Orengo who is also a senior in the coalition.
There is a looming rift between the other three co-principals and Raila Odinga following the latest moves Odinga makes contrary to what should be expected of him and his party ODM which is the major tool he uses to execute his moves lately, in running the coalition in unison with his fellows.
The big question is whether the opposition coalition, NASA, will remain intact or there is a possible disintegration with respect to the current disorganization within the coalition.
Will Mudavadi, Kalonzo and Wetangula stick to Raila Odinga after uniting with President Uhuru Kenyatta? And if they stick to NASA who will back who to presidency? Will they get support from Odinga's followers?
Mudavadi has been declared the presidential candidate come 2022 by his people back in Western Kenya whereas Kalonzo has also been declared the the presidential candidate by his people back in Ukambani and to add on this the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between him and Odinga also rendered him 2022 presidential candidate.
All these summed up together with the current disunity in the coalition may push each co-principal into find his way to the top seat which will be quite difficult considering that there will be a huge division of the support base and this will be a smooth road for DP Ruto to walk into State House.
