Raila’s party has affirmed that the leaked report was true, triggering anger within the Amani National Congress (ANC) camp.ODM Secretary General Agnes Zani said, “The sentiments by Amani are skewed. The assertion that there is no report is not accurate. The report and other processes are to be acted on by the principals.”She added, “That report was leaked in the form that the media presented it. A few aspects and figures were not those of the committee but the line-up presented had been agreed on in the committee.”

In a rejoinder statement, her ANC counterpart Godfrey Osotsi accused ODM of undermining the NASA process of picking a flag bearer.

“We are outraged, and Zani ought to know that the admission by ODM that it is responsible for dirty propaganda leaks undermines the credibility and integrity of the Nasa process…This level of arrogance shouldn’t be entertained,” said Osotsi on Tuesday.ANC, led by Musalia Mudavadi, said Raila’s party was negotiating in bad faith.

Moses Wetangula’s Ford Kenya through deputy party leader Boni Khalwale asked the NASA parties to demonstrate discipline in the talks.Khalwale said Ford Kenya will only comment on a final report by NASA.Kalonzo’s Wiper party was, however, mum on the issue.Speaking to the press, Raila said NASA was yet to settle on a presidential candidate.ANC members from the Western region – Bungoma, Kakamega – staged demonstrations demanding that their party leader, Mudavadi, be named NASA flag bearer. The fresh crisis in NASA could further delay the naming of their candidate to take on Jubilee’s President Uhuru Kenyatta.
