Former United States (US) President Barrack Obama will visit Kenya on the 16th of next month.
The former President is expected to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta in Nairobi, during his one day visit. He is also expected to visit his ancestral home in K’Ogelo, Siaya County.
Apart from meeting the Head of State, Obama is expected to preside over the official opening of global standard sport facilities in Kogelo.
The facility referred to as Sauti Kuu centre were founded by Dr Auma Obama, Barrack Obama’s sister.
According to Dr Auma Obama, the centre comprises an international standard size football pitch sponsored by the German Ministry for Development Cooperation, a basketball court sponsored by the Giants of Africa Foundation, a volleyball and netball court.
Other facilities include a library, an information technology laboratory, and a vocational centre.
"I am so happy to finally inaugurate this centre after three years of hard work. The space will serve as a safe physical space for children, youth and their families to meet and interact regularly while participating in different sports and learning activities," Dr Obama was quoted by The Nation.
Obama last visited Kenya in 2015, while serving as the 44th President of the United States.
