Opposition chief attended the 2017 presidential debate and gave his best despite his competitor subbing the contest. The veteran politician had some light moments that made everyone laugh. The Anne Waiguru case was one of the greatest jokes by Odinga.
“I would have ‘Magafullied’ her,” Odinga said amid laughter.Meanwhile, the opposition leader downplayed the notion that the Oginga Odinga and Jomo Kenyatta families have taken Kenya hostage in the political field. He even defended President Uhuru Kenyatta and said that they both have earned their political surpremacy as opposed to the inheritance talk.
“I joined politics not because my father was in politics but because of what I believe is good for this Country. Uhuru Kenyatta entered politics after an invitation from his mentor, Retired President Daniel Arap Moi. He has remained an independent actor in this arena thus he earned this position. The perception that we (Odinga and Kenyatta families) have taken Kenya hostage politically is misinformed,” Raila said.
Raila also said that what people see as verbal attacks against the President and DP Ruto are not serious issues. He stated that they are only used to cool political temperatures.
“I do not remember implicating that President Uhuru Kenyatta is a drunkard. Politics is full of jokes which cools the kitchen when it is too hot,” Odinga said.
