Over 2,000 officers will from last Thursday be on alert across the city.

According to Nairobi regional coordinator Kangethe Thuku, these officers will target public places like bus stations, streets and institutions of learning.

People without valid ID cards or foreigner documents will be arrested on the spot.

According to police, this is in an effort to fight terror.

Other areas of target will be PSV vehicles where passengers will be frisked before being allowed to travel.
