Speaking to Citizen Television reporter during presentation of papers to the Independent Elections and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Jirongo expressed displeasure on having Kidero as governor for Nairobi and Raila as the president because they come from the same community. “You cannot have a presidential candidate from one community then the governor for Nairobi from the same community. That shows other communities have no stake,” said Jirongo.

The former Member of Parliament exuded confidence in triumphing in the August 8 elections because he has something to offer Kenyans. When asked why he did not cross to the other political formations he said that attempts to support and work with other people had proved difficult. “I have been supporting others but we have not been getting far, why don’t I do it by myself?” Posed Jirongo.

It is believe that Jirongo expected an individual from his Luhya community be nominated to be governor or deputy for NASA in Nairobi County for the August 8 elections since the community is populous in the City.
