Details of former President Daniel Moi's meeting with Opposition leader RailaOdinga have surfaced.
According to a report by the Standard, Raila's visit to the former Head of State at his Kabarak home was aimed at briefing Moi on his truce with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
It is reported that Moi emphasized to Raila that the unity of the country is dear to him and they should do everything to guard it.
Moi is said to have applauded Odinga for putting his differences with the Jubilee administration behind him.
Moi further noted to have recalled with nostalgia the Nyayo philosophy of peace,love, and unity that steered his presidency.
Odinga is claimed to have revisited the divisions that hurt the country following the two highly contested presidential elections in 2017.
Individuals present at the meeting claimed that the Raila also recounted to Moi the bitter feud that followed the Supreme Court ruling that upheld President Uhuru's victory in the repeat vote, how it created a rift among the people and the risk of having the counties that supported him becoming ungovernable.
The talks between the two leaders are claimed to have touched on the country'spolitical journey to the 2022 polls.
