Raila is a sharp man. He is always one step ahead of his political opponents.
We as citizens of this great country are constantly anxious as to what political move the Political Grandmaster, Raila, shall reveal on the 25th.
One option Raila has is to accept that his name is still on the ballot and the elections of the 26th will go on. Please remember he did not formally resign. He has not filled out the required form 24A.
The constitution is clear. Anyone who wants to withdraw from the presidential race must fill out and sign form 24A.
Raila has said he has a special announcement to make on the 25th of October. I predict that this announcement will be to request his supporters to show up in large numbers to vote! With his name still on the ballot, Raila will appeal to his supporters to show up en masse on the 26th.
If this shall be the case, then it will confirm what many political analysists and enthusiasts have been saying about Nasa. The word around is that NASA is broke and has been using the free media time being given to them, to energize their voters rather than crisscrossing the country campaigning like Jubilee. We all know that crisscrossing the country during campaign season means tonnes of cash changing hands.
By constantly saying he will not participate in the polls, the media is constantly monitoring Raila and giving him free airtime every time he speaks.
If a political party was cash-strapped, it would try anything to get free campaigning via the local media. By continually blaming Jubilee and IEBC, Raila and Nasa has made sure they are in the news every day.
The second option Raila has on the 25th during his announcement is to coordinate massive protests around the country during the repeat poll.
I shall not predict the outcome of the above.
This is a very sensitive issue and I do not want to be frog marched to Pangani Police or any ICC courtroom.
