Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga joined residents of Nyahera for a thanksgiving church service in honour of the Kisumu Governor Prof. Peter Anyang' Nyong'o.
Odinga was received by the governor alongside his Deputy Dr. Ochieng' Owili on Sunday.
Also present were nominated senator Rose Nyamunga, Senator Petronila Were, County Secretary Olang'o Onudi, former Kisumu County DG Ruth Odinga, MCAs, several CeCs and a host of other county officials from the County government.
Raila thanked residents for electing him and urged them to unite together and support his reconciliation agenda that was ignited by the famous handshake.
"It is the only way for us to realize the devolution agenda," he said.
He said both the executive, legislature and the county assemblies must cooperate to ensure that devolution realises its full potential, being one of the keynote speakers at the 5th annual devolution conference set to begin in Kakamega on April 23rd-27th.
Nyong'o indicated that all the arms of the government should unite for the interest of Kenyans.
