According to Margaret Ireri of the TIFA Research firm, the voter turnout among the youthful voting block holds key to who wins the October 26 contest.

To Ireri, the politicians should focus their energies to ensure that the voter turnout among the youth is high.

"If there is a low turnout among the youth, this could result in a significant shift in  voting patterns, " Ms. Ireri said in her column on the Standard Newspaper.

Further, Ireri argues that issues that matter to young voters are not different from older voters and to her, political strategists should strive on how to communicate and package the message differently to different voters.
