Unfortunately, Raila has lost the fight to become the head of State.
During the just concluded elections, Raila enjoyed massive support from this community.
Despite the existence of leaders such as Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua, Raila managed to garner more votes from the region, thanks to Kalonzo’s influence.
Kalonzo has an uphill task to marshal another alliance that will shake the seating government during the next general elections.
The Ukambani political kingpin will have to play his cards right if at all he wants to remain relevant in the political arena.
Although Kalonzo has been in the political arena for decades, time has come for him to change his tactics to keep his presidential dream burning. The Wiper leaders have to scout for other communities to back him to ascend to power when that time comes.
