Kalonzo’s greatest threat in the 2022 presidential race is none other than Deputy William Ruto.
The move by Ruto to reunite with the Deputy is hurt Kalonzo’s fight to win the Kalenjin votes if the current political situation is anything to go. It is now clear that the Rift Valley region is united after Ruto won the war with his strongest critic from the Kalenjin community. Governor had been launching attack after attack against the Jubilee government.
The politician had to convince a section of Kalenjin community to rally behind National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Amolo Odinga. Kalonzo needs to scout for a politician who will deliver him the Kalenjin votes when that time comes.
The former vice president and Ukambani political kingpin have an uphill task ahead of him considering the situation in the Rift Valley. Kalonzo has declared that he will contest for the presidential post in 2022, but the numbers do not seem to favor him. He needs to draft a clear plan that will enable him to ascend to the nation’s top seat.
