Do our leaders care about the legacy they leave behind upon retirement? A legacy that matters is connected with the people. Some Kenyan leaders have become too selfish such that they steal even from themselves. At one time, I had to ask myself did our mothers stop giving birth to true leaders.

It is interesting to note that some leaders have the audacity to grab cemetery land. Do such leaders care about the dead? Leaving the dead aside, Kenyan leaders have been involved in endless scandals yearly. What remains unclear is why we keep electing persons with Tumbocratic tendencies into different leadership positions.

It is senseless to keep holding elections in the name of democracy only to vote for people who incite us to fight ourselves. Most of the Kenyan leaders care about the families more than the electorate. It is interesting to note that we reward families at the expense of the will of the people. Must someone’s son or daughter succeed him or her when he or she dies? Are some Kenyans more equal than others? Why would a single family hold a certain position for decades yet nothing if forthcoming?

Time has come for Kenyans to stand up and fight for what belongs to them. Kenyans need to realize that we belong together. Preaching the message of hate and propaganda won’t take this nation anywhere. The economy is weakening as politics continue to take center stage. We must realize that this nation belongs to all of us.
