The night is a time for people to take a rest from their day-to-day activities and get some sleep.
However, Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is a man in a hurried rush against time and has been running up and down through the night to seek satisfaction of Nairobians.
On the night of Monday, the governor was traversing the city conducting repairs to infrastructure in the CBD.
He took to social media to update residents on his whereabouts.
"Nyinyi mkilala hapa ni wira tu. On-going garbage pile up clearance at Kangemi Market.BThis just a temporary measure to clear over 3yrs uncollected garbage pile-ups accumulated in various areas. We have already engaged 3 international waste management companies to put up a giant recycling plant at the Dandora dumpsite. The companies will be using garbage as their main raw material to generate power and other products. Apart from creating employment to our youth, these companies will also be buying garbage from all over Nairobi," he posted on his Facebook page.
The governor also led road repairs in the CBD.
"Night Shift Team Fixing Cabrol and Pavement in CBD. We have instructed all Road Engineers to move with speed and commence works on all our county roads in pathetic and impassable conditions in all the 17 sub-counties. Currently Engineers, operators and staff are on the ground and maintenance work is in progress. It's my assurance that the ongoing road maintenance program will be spread across the 17 sub-counties in Nairobi," he added.
