The decision by Cord to stop their weekly demonstration comes just a day after foreign envoys delivered their wishes is an indicator that the opposition means good for the nation.
The move is never an act of cowardice but a show of patriotism by the country's opposition led by Raila Odinga.
It is now upon the Jubilee government led by President Kenyatta and his deputy to immediately convene a national forum with Cord and the IEBC commissioners to resolve the month-long stalemate.
Issack Hassan and his fellow commissioners should seize the opportunity and explain to the country as to why the commission should not be disbanded. However, giving room for dialogue is not final. The hardest task that is now staring at the three players; the IEBC, the Cord opposition, and the Jubilee government is being broad-minded and thinking beyond the 2017 elections.
The Hassan Issack led commission could be fighting for their jobs, Jubilee could be fighting to retain power and Cord could be fighting to ascend to power.
All in all, Kenya is greater that Jubilee, Cord or IEBC. Kenya will also not expire in 2017, it will live way long beyond the forthcoming elections.
