AFC Leopards will today, Sunday take on their bitter rivals Gor Mahia, in this season’s opener in Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium.
The match, which will be aired through a local station, will serve as the first match of the season, ahead of next week’s first round of matches.
Speaking to Kenya Premier League, Ingwe’s captain Duncan Otieno said they want to put last season’s disappoint behind them, and work on having a stellar season.
He added that they want to start the season off well, by beating Gor in today’s match. The skipper says they have had an impressive build up season, and is looking forward to the new season.
“Last season was not so good for the team but we at least won the Shield Cup and that’s why are playing in the Super Cup. This year everything is in order and the preparations have been good. Our aim is to do better than last season. We want to start on a good note by winning the Super Cup,” Otieno said.
The Leopards had a season to forget, as they aim to catch up with their rivals, whom they lost to twice and conceded six goals.
