President Uhuru Kenyatta sent his deputy William Ruto an encouraging birthday message, as he turned 50-years-old, December 21, 2016.
Through social media, Uhuru asked Kenyans to join him in wishing the former Eldoret North MP happy birthday, terming him his brother.
"Join me in wishing my brother, friend and able deputy a happy 50th Birthday,'' said Uhuru.
He added: ''May you ever remain "strong in will, to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield". God's blessings always!"
Ruto later in the evening held a birthday ceremony, where he cut and ate cake, in company of friends and colleagues.
Some who attended the event include Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen, MPs Ferdinand Waititu (Kabete), Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), among others.
