President Uhuru Kenyatta has demanded that the Supreme Court expunges the National Super Alliance (NASA) from a petition that pursues the nullification of his win in the repeat presidential election.
Through lead counsel Fred Ngatia, the president told the apex court Tuesday evening that the opposition had used their opportunity of filing a substantive petition to sneak in arguments outside of a petition filed by activists Khalef Khalifa and Njonjo Mue.
He said the court should never condone such action.
“It will not be possible to be able to answer two petitions; one which we’ve already answered and the other one which cannot be answered,” Ngatia told the court.
“The fact is that the withdrawn candidate is no candidate at all. He’s simply gone out of the picture and his involvement therefore in this context cannot be understood other than that of coming to so to speak confuse issues,” he added.
