President Uhuru Kenyatta’s decision to relieve former Health CS Cleopa Mailu of his duties has left the Kamba nation without a Cabinet secretary. Although the wave of the National Super Alliance (NASA) has been sweeping across the region, there are leaders who pitched tents in different parts with the hope that one of their own will get a slot in the government. Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua and Former Kitui senator David Musila are among the leaders who spearheaded President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto’s campaign in the region. The two leaders have been reminding the head of state not to forget them when naming different officials in his government. The community is likely to feel that the Jubilee regime no longer cares about it. Before their election, Uhuru and Ruto assured Kenyans that they will serve them without fear or favor. Communities such as Ukambani are still waiting to see what the government has to offer them. Both those who voted for Jubilee and NASA expect Kenya to be a better country. It is a great challenge for Uhuru to deliver on his promises considering the people whom he has to reward.
