Bungoma Senator and Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetang'ula faces an exit as Senate Minority Leader following the move by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party to vote him out.
Weatmg'ula's tribulations come after his fellow National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Raila Odinga met President Uhuru Kenyatta in a bid to unite the country and help the country forge forward in terms of development.
The meeting between Riala and Uhuru subsequently led to wrangles within the coalition with the other principals feeling betrayed by Raila.
However, Wetang'ula should now concentrate on his future political endeavors considering ODM is set to push on with their agenda of removing him from his senate position.
At the moment, Wetang'ula faces a shortage in numbers in all elective posts in the country. His party did not have a majority of its contestants voted for in the August 2017 election hence leaving him exposed.
As the country now focuses on 2022, Wetang'ula should now direct his energy on how he grows and popularizes his party to amass as many seats as possible in the Senate, National assembly and in the counties. With a majority of numbers, he can prevent any predicament as the one he is currently facing.
The senator should further look for ways of attracting strong politicians in the country to his party. He should engage independent political leaders, elected or not, and also engage politicians in other parties and woo them to join his political camp.
With a strong outfit, Wetang'ula can avoid future political embarrassments more so from those he perceived as friends when he formed a coalition with them.
